Chronicle 2: Chapter 2: Insomnia Falls a FFXV cosball

Not only did we decide we wanted to try hosting parties this year, we got crazy and decided to host two parties!!

The Grand ended up asking us if we would like to host another party in their Grand Ballroom venue. We all wanted to dedicate this one our beloved FFXV since the venue was very fancy and looked like something straight out of Insomnia, the main city in the game.

We still wanted to channel something a little extra, something different than just having a formal party. There was a fashion walk that allowed people to show off their creations to the crowd, after that there was a performance to initiate the “fall” of Insomnia. In the game the city where the main characters are from falls in an epic way. So we decided to start with how it all began with a dance between the prince and the oracle who were to be wed, the villain of the whole game crashes this dance and initiated the fall with a speech, after that balloon dropped and the dance music started. We had a photo booth set up for attendees to take photos with one another, a campfire for relaxing and chatting, and themed drinks.

Chronicle 1: Chapter 1: And then there were the Chocobros

We decided to start Horsemen Of after we had one of the best times of our life at Emerald City Comicon dressed at FFXV’s 4 main characters whom we affectionately refer to as the chocobros. The 4 of s had been costuming for years before this but we had a really bad year this year, we were burnt out, not having fun, and generally thinking of quitting all of this.

Then enter SDCC that year where Jackie begged to play the new demo of FFXV at the SquareEnix booth and Deb loyally stood by her in line for 2 hrs to play it. It was beautiful, but clumsy. Intriguing, but you could tell it was still in development and Jackie was in love. She had waited 10 years (yes really) for this game to come out and nothing was going to stop her! They all joked later that a fun and easy drinking costume would be us dressing as the boys. That joke turned into reality at Emerald City Comic Con the following year and we never looked back. These boys saved our love for this craft and we can’t let them go because of it. Our goal is to never stop having fun doing this, show other people how much fun this can be, and create a supportive and positive space for those that want to have a good tie and make friends. That is Horsemen Of. Four friends (Frank and Nat’s and KnowOne’s Designs) traveling across the land searching for riders who want to party medium and enjoy this giant game of dress up we call cosplay.

Here are some of the adventures we’ve gone on with the boys since then:
